Over Memorial Day weekend, 18 Upward Bound students had the opportunity to explore several college campuses and experience life beyond high school.
The trip began at University of California, Santa Cruz, where students enjoyed lunch in the dining hall and learned about academic programs, student life, and campus opportunities. After the tour, students spent the evening at the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk for dinner and some well-deserved fun.
The following day, students visited Santa Rosa Junior College, where they had the chance to connect with FRHS alumni Ricardo Garcia and hear about his educational journey. The trip concluded with a tour of Sonoma State University, giving students another look at college options and campus life.
Thank you Upward Bound for this experience for our students!

KEYS ACADEMIC AWARDS
Wednesday, May 20th at 7:00 pm in the FRHS Gym
Students who will receive an award have been sent an invitation and a list can also be found posted at the office. We encourage family to attend to support their students and their academic achievements!
Please note: This is for current 7th through 11th grade only!
Seniors will receive awards during their Senior Recognition Dinner.
History of the Keys Awards
In 1970, Mr. Ivan Keys, then principal, started presenting awards to academically talented students. In honor of Mr. Keys, who was also our former District Superintendent, Fall River Jr/Sr High School named these the Keys Awards.
Although Mr. Keys passed away in 2009, we will always be thankful for his commitment to Fall River High School students and their education.
Fall River Junior-Senior High School's staff considers it an honor to
recognize these students.

UB STUDENTS HEAD NORTH FOR COLLEGE EXPORATION TRIP!
FRHS students in the Upward Bound Program had the opportunity to travel to Southern Oregon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, and Klamath Community College for an exciting college exploration trip! Students toured each campus, learned about academic programs, explored student life, and gained valuable insight into college opportunities available after high school. Trips like these help students build confidence, expand their perspectives, and begin envisioning themselves on a college campus. Thank you to the colleges for welcoming our students and helping make this experience both educational and inspiring!

REACH HIGHER SHASTA - COLLEGE AND CAREER SIGNING DAY!
Yesterday, several seniors from Fall River Jr. Sr. High School proudly attended the College and Career Signing Day hosted by Reach Higher Shasta. This event celebrates graduating seniors from across Shasta County as they commit to their next steps after high school, including college, trade school, military service, and careers.
We are excited to share that 4 of the 7 FRHS seniors who attended were selected to receive a $500 scholarship through the event raffle! Congratulations to all of our seniors as they take the next step toward their futures. We are proud to see them representing our school and community so well!

CA High School Rodeo District 1 competitor and FRHS Freshman, Brylee Small will represent at the CA State Finals in Pole Bending, Goat Tying and Cutting!
Not only is she holding the #1 spot for D1, as indicated by her back number, she received D1 awards for Rookie of the Year, All Around Champion, Pole Bending Champion and a Silver Scholar Athlete.
Congrats Brylee!

FRHS Senior, Rennee Wilson participated in the Local Indians for Education, Inc. graduation celebration, where they honored Shasta County's 2026 Indigenous high school, vocational, college and university graduates. Accompanying her as her honored guest was FRHS Senior English Teacher, Ken Howes. Congrats Rennee!
