Kelly Freeland Sloat, Principal
Kelly Freeland-Sloat grew up in the Intermountain Area and graduated from Burney High School. She attended UC Davis earning degrees in English and Psychology and also played volleyball for the Aggies. She married her high school sweetheart, Todd, and went on to earn credentials in English, Special Education, and Administration. Kelly taught in West Sacramento, Smith River, and Woodland before moving back home to settle in the Fall River Valley. She and Todd have three children, Kelsey, Taylor, and Kiley, and two grandchildren, Liv and Maeve. Kelly taught eleven years at FRHS before becoming the Vice Principal and Athletic Director. She also coached varsity volleyball for 19 years. Mrs. Freeland-Sloat became the principal this year and says that it’s the best job she’s ever had! In her free time Kelly enjoys kayaking, cooking, exercising, and spending time with her family.

Liz Guerrero, Dean of Students

Liz is from the Central Valley where she graduated high school from Atwater High School. Her post-secondary path includes; an Associate’s degree from Merced College, Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from CSU Stanislaus and Master’s degree and PPS Credential from National University. Liz started her career in education in the Merced Union High School District, where she worked for 10 years before moving with her family to the Intermountain area. She has been employed by the FRJUSD since 2013 and has transitioned from School Counselor to her current position Dean of Students at Fall River Jr. Sr. High School. She is excited and looks forward to the challenges and growth that will come with this position. Her motto: “Stay Positive, Work Hard and Make it Happen”
