PHYSICAL SCIENCE AND CHEMISTRY CAPTURE PURE MAGIC IN THE FLAME TEST LAB!
Donning goggles and gloves, students introduced tiny samples of compounds—from lithium chloride’s cherry‑red glow to cupric nitrate’s electric teal—and recorded every vibrant hue they saw. By matching their observations to known flame colors, they got a front‑row seat to how electrons jump between energy levels and release light. Great job Mr. McGibboney! Inquiry‑based learning has never looked so bright!

HOLA (Hispanic Opportunity Leadership Advancement)

Fall River High School students had the opportunity last week to attend the first ever Rural Student Voice Conference, hosted by the North State Student Ambassadors of Chico State University. FRHS Alumni Cyanna Iniguez is one of the Ambassadors who organized the event.
"Here at Chico State, we have been lucky enough to form a group of student representatives from rural areas. I am proud to serve as the representative for Shasta County. As the North State Student Ambassador team, we are focused on making CSU Chico, and all of higher education, a better environment for rural students. We would like to hear about the challenges that high school students have faced as rural students, as well as the opportunities and advantages that they associate with their small communities and rural upbringing." - Cyanna Iniguez
The purpose was to empower high school student voices and help to develop support systems, connections and allow them a way to voice concerns and struggles they may face going to Chico State. Students from all over the north state attended the event.
Thank you to Counselor Roxanna Fry taking our students to attend this opportunity!
